Dear Mr. President-elect Trump

Dear Mr. President-elect Trump,

I find it amazing how one person is capable of inducing such an incredible divide throughout the world.  As I sat in my hotel in Paris and watched the unraveling of America I had a much different response than the rest of the world. I wanted to take a moment to thank you.  Thank you for creating a divide, for breaking the complacent out of their warm beds and for waking the sleeping dragon. Thank you for shaking a nation’s beliefs to the core and showing the underbelly of a society.  

I am glad you are a wolf in wolf’s clothing. I honor that you don’t hide your bigotry or sexism. I am excited that the darkness has been brought forth so that the light can be revealed. No longer will people sit and pretend to live their obscure lives of bullshit economics and faux-feminism. You have shown the true poison that the elite members of our society have thrown on us for years and now finally people are paying attention. They aren’t listening to the rhetoric anymore. They are ready for the truth. 

You have created a backlash of outrage and from this outrage we will create a revolution. From this revolution, truth will be revealed and from this truth a new era will dawn. 

Your willingness to be a staunch disruptor will finally incite a country to re-evaluate the democratic system and the institutions that bail out Wall Street, banks and car companies yet leave the average American barely able to pay their bills. 

I know that no matter what policies or things you do in the next 4 years that we will be OK. We will be better than OK. We are paying attention and will rise to create a new paradigm.

A Minority

On November 7th I flew to Paris and watched in horror and sadness the events of the next week. It has taken me this long to gather my complete thoughts about how I wanted to present my views on this election and honestly around our complete political system. I was honored to be teaching at a retreat in Paris at the Saint James when election day came. I had already submitted my early vote on my short stop through Miami on my way to Europe.

As America saw what they considered to be Hate trump Love, I was sitting in one of the most exquisite hotels in Paris and rationalizing with the other retreat leaders about the rising tide that was playing throughout media. I spent several mornings on the phone speaking to loved ones who were scared and angry.  I was blocked on Facebook by several people for professing a belief in peace and a new way. I had a backlash from people close to me that stood in fear and I had an outpouring of resonance from others.  I decided at that moment that I would write this letter to the president-elect to share with my tribe.

I then took a sacred journey seven-day through the south of France visiting sacred sites and a spiritual retreat center that I will be teaching at in 2017.  I am now sitting in Julia Child’s home in Provence preparing for a Thanksgiving feast and have decided to share my collective thoughts and this letter.

Leading up to the election I posted very little about my beliefs and decided to stay out of the political conversation. I remember growing up hearing there are 3 things we should never speak about “money, religion, and politics”. Of course, I have never really paid attention to what I “should” do which is why I have the extraordinary life that I do.  I decided to stay out of the political conversation because I believe what is happening on this planet right now goes much deeper than the conversation of two political parties in the United States.  As a gay woman, the daughter of an immigrant, and mother of a gay child I have as much reason as anyone to be angry and upset yet the conversation we need to be having isn’t about Trump or Hilary. It is about pulling back the veil of illusion that we as a society are living in, the complacency that has brought us all here to this great divide.

As I watched the unfolding and felt the fear creeping into the lives of my friends and loved ones I made two small posts of Facebook that had more shares and interactions than anything I have posted in the last year. I know because of this that people are searching for an answer, a light, a new way.  What is going to FINALLY make people join together in unity for a NEW WAY a NEW VOICE?

We have seen the results. Today you have a choice, nothing has changed. It’s all an illusion. Choose peace and love. You CREATE your world. Home is where you make it. We now have the opportunity to take this and teach the younger generation. We cannot change those around us but we can teach them and SHOW them a new paradigm, a new way coming from Love and something greater. We will change the world. One person at a time. It starts within, not in the government.

That being said WE MUST RISE UP!  This is about creating a new foundation and breaking away from the patriarchal society that has garnered this world for centuries. This is about bringing back the respect for the land, for women, for community, and for society. This is about realizing that we are all ONE. One Love. One Tribe.  A society that does not protect its minorities is a society that will eventually fall. We have lived in a place where NORMAL is

Worldwide, more than 700 million women alive today were married as children. Around 120 million girls have experienced forced sexual acts. At least 200 million women and girls alive today have undergone genital mutilation. 20 to 25% of lesbian and gay people will experience hate crimes in their lifetimes.  1.2 million children are trafficked every year and at least 20.9 million people are victims of forced labor (slavery) worldwide.

And I haven’t even begun to talk about how we are raping planet earth, killing our animals and downright disregard for all life forms.  THIS is what is being revealed and pulled back.  The dying paradigm of a masculine world.  Those that feel their way slipping push for one last great fight before a new era is birthed. The phoenix is rising and we are entering a time of great uncertainty and through this uncertainty is when the greatness rises. Watch for the voices, the thought leaders, the next generation of peace-makers that will surface to heal a nation and the world.

We are at a critical time in our history.  We are at the crossroads, the magical space in-between.  We are in between 2 worlds. An ancestral archetypal patriarchal society that honored violence, sexism, and racism. Even Hilary would not have been able to preserve the “ideals” America was holding on to. As a way of being dissolves we are entering a time when everything will be questioned.  All that seemed real, true, permanent will come into question. This is the formidable breakdown before the breakthrough of a new consciousness.  As this bubble that we have lived in is popped the only possibility is for a new doctrine to be implemented.  Those that have been speaking of this doctrine for years have been considered “woo-woo” or some other New Age bullshit.  There is a cosmic shift happening right NOW. We are truly in between Old Truths and New Truths were all will be broken down, all darkness will be revealed to bring about a true form of non-judgement.  What is this new truth? One Love. One Tribe.  We are all in this together.  Can we infiltrate the political world with our spiritual beliefs and teachings?  Now is the time. Rise Up.
